Once Upon a Telford is an app created by Reading Hack with Telford and Wrekin Libraries.
Reading Hack is a group of inspiring young people aged 11-16 who have been working on a project with Telford and Wrekin Libraries about the recent history of Telford Town Centre and its surrounding areas. The project named ‘Once Upon a Telford’ by the young people is part of the Libraries larger Heritage Lottery funded project ‘Telford Our New Town’.
The project lead entirely by the group of young people has five main themes:
1. Telford Town Centre
2. Telford Town Park
3. Chelsea Gardens
4. Wonderland
5. Transport
The app explores these themes and features photos and content about the development and history of each area.

The project also includes a giant pop-up book that was created by the Reading Hack with the help of artist Katy Alston. The app features photos of the creation in progress.
